“I… I don’t know,” replied Count Goru, “it has been a long day.”

For someone who had lived for hundreds of years, deciding a day had been long was a big call.

“What’s your name,” asked the kind voice.

“I am… Count Goru,” he replied, in monotone, rather than the usual flamboyant and camp way he did when introducing himself at parties, gatherings, and the chemist.

“Count Goru,” the voice replied, before adding, “the Count Goru?”
